I Was Laid Off Yesterday

Yesterday, Coinbase let me go. 700 of us. 14% of the company, gone before breakfast.

I’m not going to pretend that it didn't sting.

But here’s what I also know: I’m going to be okay. Not because I had a safety net. Because I built one.

For years, while I was showing up to work and climbing that ladder, I was also buying assets. Real estate. Deals that build my wealth regardless of what any CEO decides over a working lunch.

Today’s news changes my job title. It doesn’t change my net worth.

That’s the difference between building wealth and waiting on a paycheck. One of those you control. The other you don’t; and today was proof.

Most people in my shoes right now are scrambling. Updating resumes. Refreshing LinkedIn. Hoping to land somewhere safe.

I’ve been that person. I know that feeling. But I also know that “safe” is a company’s promise they can break on any Tuesday morning.

Real safety is ownership. Properties that pay. Assets that don’t care who your employer is. If news of layoffs makes your stomach drop a little, that feeling is information. That’s the part of you that knows you’re one email away from the same situation.

Driven Life Academy exists for exactly that moment. To show you how to start building the thing nobody can lay off.

Don’t wait for your Tuesday. Let’s talk.
